Care & Usage

Please hand-wash mask prior to using it for the first time. Each mask comes with 2 single use filter sets (2 right & 2 left) totaling 48 hours of use (24 hours per set). Filters do not come pre-installed. Filters cannot get wet, be washed, or be reused. Reusing filters causes reduced filter efficiency, loss of mask breathability and can cause bacterial infections if they are overused. This is the case for any mask filter or meltblown/surgical mask on the market! We always recommend that you wash your mask and replace filters immediately after air travel, attending a high-risk event, or any time you feel exposed. For filter instruction click here.


We recommend gently folding your mask by the ear loops (as opposed to aggressively bending the nose piece itself) to prevent nose clip breakage. We also recommend gently hand-washing the mask and hang drying. Machine washing (even delicate) will greatly increase chance of nose clip breakage and decrease breathability. We use strong alloy non-rust, extra wide metal nose clips that are more durable and higher quality, but nose clips of any kind will break if care instructions are not carefully followed. Our mask maintains its protection/durability up to 25 washes and can be worn beyond 25 washes depending on how much care is taken.

Filter Protection

  • Includes 2 sets (2 right & 2 left) of Nanotechnology Filters with each mask.

  • Each mask filter contains an excess of 15 miles of nanofiber matrix (thousands of times smaller than a human hair) in an area less than 1mm thick! They are invisible to the naked eye and can protect with 99% efficiency all the way down to nano aerosols as small as 0.1 microns.

  • Filters need to be changed every time you go to wash your mask, or within approximately 24 hours of consistent indoor use with poor ventilation, due to the more contagious Delta and emerging variants. Filters cannot get wet, or be reused. Reusing filters causes reduced filter efficiency, loss of mask breathability and can cause bacterial infections if they are overused. This is the case for any mask filter or meltblown/surgical mask on the market! We always recommend that you replace filters immediately after air travel, attending a high-risk event, or any time you feel exposed.

  • Note:  our non-woven polymers are made sustainably at low temperatures in New Zealand, and are non-toxic and inert. We do NOT use antibacterial additives, graphene, carbon, activated charcoal, heavy metals, or woven nano particles such as copper, silver or zinc common in many surgical and filtered cloth masks under any circumstances. Our 15 miles of nanofiber matrix is sandwiched between two layers (one on each side) of polypropylene, so there is no chance of fiber shedding or breathing in fine nano particles. Our materials were designed for kids, seniors and those with respiratory conditions and chemical sensitivities. 

  • These filters are designed specifically for the Unicorn Mask and we do not recommend inserting them into different mask brands as it will drastically reduce the efficiency rating.

Comfortable and Gives Confidence

I received my order of masks and I am extremely happy with the quality. The packaging was very well done and the fit of the mask is perfect. No air leakage at all upon breathing and the nose adjuster is also a very nice material. It's a softer material that can be shaped perfectly to the bridge of your nose. The 0.1 micron rating with the changeable filters and perfect fit makes me feel much more comfortable when I go out in these troubled times. We have found that sizing by weight works for the majority of our customers, but we always recommend double checking your correct size based on our detailed sizing chart below, as we cannot accept return/exchanges due to U.S. Health code. Finally!!! A phenomenal in ALL ways, Mask!!!

I just received my UNICORN masks and am so impressed with the quality, the fit, the absolute classic style that stands out from ANY other mask I have seen thus far...not to mention, I can actually BREATHE!!! Since COVID appeared, I have been wearing several types of "protective" masks. I have a respiratory condition therefore, it's imperative that I am diligent in my efforts. Honestly, I have struggled to breathe properly with ALL of the masks I have tried; literally gasping at times for adequate air intake resorting to having to periodically "lift" the masks in order to take a deep breath which is unsafe. We ask all customers to read and agree to this Shipping Policy Terms & Conditions in full prior to placing their order. Once an order is placed, this disclaimer is understood to have been read, confirmed, and agreed to.    


SECTION 1: DUE TO THE GROWING ISSUE OF STOLEN PACKAGES, DAMAGED PACKAGES, HELD PACKAGES, LOST PACKAGES, AND RETURNED PACKAGES through the “Delivery Carrier” (USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL, etc), we encourage all customers to select SIGNATURE CONFIRMATION and INSURANCE when placing an order. All orders will have a tracking number but this does not protect against stolen packages, damaged packages, held packages, lost packages, and returned packages.


SECTION 2: OWNERSHIP OF PACKAGES TURNED OVER TO THE “DELIVERY CARRIER” TRANSFERS TO THE BUYER. We are not responsible for lost, held, stolen, damaged, or returned packages. We are not responsible for delivery errors via “Delivery Carrier”, or incorrect shipping details provided to us at checkout. Shipping is a service you purchase from the “Delivery Carrier” along with your order from us, so any shipping issues must be handled by the “Delivery Carrier”. 


SECTION 3: IN THE CASE THAT YOUR SHIPMENT IS LOST, HELD, STOLEN, OR DAMAGED IN TRANSIT; YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE TO FILE A CLAIM WITH THE “DELIVERY CARRIER”. We are not responsible for lost or damaged packages during transit, weather-related damages, COVID delays, or stolen packages. Once packages leave our warehouse, they are completely out of our control and in the responsibility of the “Delivery Carrier”. No refunds will be issued for lost, damaged, held, stolen, or returned packages. Again, this is why we encourage all customers to select SIGNATURE CONFIRMATION and INSURANCE when placing an order.


SECTION 4: ORDERS ARE PROCESSED WITHIN 72 HOURS (MONDAY - FRIDAY), EXCLUDING HOLIDAYS. Need faster? Be sure you get Priority shipping on checkout which fulfills within 24-48 hours. If there is a delay you will be notified via email. We always alert our customers of any delays on a blue banner on our website. Processing time does not include shipping time. Once an order is placed you will receive an email (1) “Order Confirmation”. Once your order is processed you will receive an “Order Shipped” (2) email confirmation with a tracking number. Please allow 24/hrs for the “Delivery Carrier” to update the tracking details for your order. Shipping time starts when the “Delivery Carrier” provides a timestamp of acceptance in the tracking details. 


SECTION 5: KEEP AN EYE ON YOUR PACKAGE'S TRACKING PROGRESS. Again, you will receive an email to track your package once a label is generated. We recommend you give us your primary email address so that the Order Confirmation and Shipping Confirmation tracking reaches you. Please always check your Spam folder if you do not receive an automatic Order Confirmation from us. If 1/hr has passed and you still have not received it after checking Spam, be sure to contact us at info@unicornbreathingmask.com.


SECTION 6: PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR SHIPPING ADDRESS IS CORRECT BEFORE PLACING YOUR ORDER. We will not be responsible for incorrect addresses. If your package is returned to us due to an insufficient address, we will contact you to obtain the correct address to be shipped via the contact method you provide to us. You will be responsible to pay once more for shipping. This is why it is important to put your primary phone and email address on your order. We do not sell or share your privacy information under any circumstances.

The majority of all our orders are shipped through USPS. Some bulk and international orders may be shipped through UPS, FedEx, or DHL depending on the cost.

  • USPS Priority Mail, 2-4 business days. Up to $100 Insurance included. Option to add Signature Confirmation.

Safe, reusable, environmentally friendly, and comfortable

The Unicorn masks are safe and effective, but that's not all. Unlike other safe and effective masks, they are environmentally soundly sourced and made. Additionally, they allow for easy speech with their chin covers. If you want more, they are not one and done. They are very comfortable to use over and over again.

The BEST mask I have ever used!

I ordered several masks for myself and my family. I was amazed that they were not only just as good as described, but the comfort, fit and breathability actually exceeded my expectations. I have chronic health issues with some breathing difficulties, so I ordered the linen mask for myself and I can breathe through it quite easily. I am also amazed how well these masks fit the face! I couldn't recommend them more!

Amazing!

This Natural Linen mask was my second purchase, the first was the Tencel mask. The Tencel mask is a great mask for people with no breathing problems but the Linen mask is great for those of us with lung problems!
I had a pulmonary embolism in 2014 that damaged my lungs making breathing difficult. As a result I couldn't find a mask for my life that worked for me AND felt protective until Ms. Sky suggested this Linen mask. The mask is very well made, feels secure, and actually makes me feel safe going out in public. I love this mask!
